Washington Irving Intermediate School houses grades 3, 4, and 5. With a diverse range of academic opportunities, including STEM, Social Emotional Learning, and Enrichment programs, we strive to prepare our students for a successful future.

Our commitment to Horseman P.R.I.D.E—Problem-solving, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy—forms the foundation of teaching our students to be kind and compassionate individuals. Welcome to Washington Irving Intermediate School! On behalf of the entire school community, we are honored to be able to work with your child! It is our goal to work with you in order to help your child become a curious, life long learner with the skills necessary to be a critical thinker and problem solver in our ever-changing world.  

Our classrooms are designed to create a safe and caring learning environment that supports all students. In celebrating our diversity we recognize that all members of our community have much to contribute and gain by learning from each other. Embedded within our instruction are opportunities to foster the development of a shared set of principles and values to help us flourish as a community of respectful, responsible and empathetic human beings.

As the Assistant Principal of Washington Irving School since 2019, and having served as a dedicated staff developer here since 2012, I am truly honored to collaborate with a remarkable community of educators and students. Embracing a lifelong learning mindset, I continually seek opportunities to stay abreast of current trends and best practices, enabling me to effectively contribute to the growth and development of our school.

Our students are at a crucial stage in their lives, as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and identity formation. Building strong connections with each student and their families is a cornerstone of my approach. By understanding their unique needs and aspirations, I can provide the necessary support and guidance to navigate this critical period.

I am deeply committed to cultivating responsible individuals who possess the confidence and resilience to thrive not only in middle school but also in their future endeavors. Together with our dedicated team, I strive to foster an inclusive and empowering learning environment that nurtures every student's potential.
